I am in the beginning stages of organizing my equipment and programming my apex. Anyone have any programs/modes that they think are essential or highly useful? Looking to make a feeding mode, water change mode, etc. Any ideas are welcome.
    Thanks,Kylie

There's not really any "magic" programs...it's really dependent on what you want to monitor with your controller. Decide that first, then we can help you program it to your needs.

Ok. Well, I have my lights done and heaters done. Next things to do is figure out how to get it to warn me. I set up the gmx account and wrote in my info on the apex network settings. Not sure how to tell if that worked. Still need to google the commands to write in the program for when it should warn me. Also want to make a Feeding mode and a WC mode.

Go to RC neptune forum with all your questions. There are people over there that seemingly live for answering apex questions.

You can get your info here, but seriously the people that really know about this stuff is over there.

Ok AJ or anyone else Apex savvy. I am trying to see if there is a program I can write to alert me if my ATO bucket is running dry. My idea is have the ATO switch on its own outlet of the EB8. Then I'm trying to find a way to make a program that'll alert me if the ATO switch stays on for a certain amount of time, indicating that it has run out of water in my bucket but still needs to add water to the tank. Does this make sense? If so, how do I write a program for that?

Is your ATO gravity fed (float valve) or pump fed? If pump fed, then you put the pump on an EB8 outlet. If not, then you won't need to use any outlets. Switches run off of the I/O port, not the outlets. You connect a breakout box to the I/O port, and that allows you to monitor the state of 6 independent switches...no matter what those switches may be used for. Float switches, magnetic proximity switches (i.e. the kind used on doors and windows to see if a door/window is open), or other devices like a waterbug, skimmate locker, etc.

Put a float switch 1/3 of the way from the bottom on your ATO bucket, and put a statement in your alert code to turn on the alert if that switch is either open or closed. Let me know if this isn't clear and I can explain better with code examples if needed.
