I have changed my internet and when I try to access the Apex now, it doesn't work/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/mad.gif I have not disconnected my service yet from Hughes so I can still login through that. The new service is through US Cellular using their HotSpot so it's all coming off the towers. I really want to use the HotSpot as I save $50 month as compared to Hughes. I always use the computer for the Apex, not the Display. What am I missing? When I click on the Apex, it doesn't bring up the login, let alone the status page. Since I'm so dumb when it comes to these things, is the Apex linked with my Hughes service as I set the Apex up when I had Hughes? If it is, can I redo the Apex so it works with US Cellular?/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/unsure.gif

It's your external (real world) IP. It's different depending on which service you connect to. If you go to something like www.ipchicken.com while connected to one or the other it will show you what the IP is. Should say something like 172.16.254.20, etc... If you're accessing via an app or something you'll need to update it to the new external IP number. Other problem might be that the hotspot might not be able to direct traffic the way a wireless router can. Haven't played enough with those to answer that.

You always have to go changing things around after you get them figured out LOL.

Are you having trouble accessing it from inside your home network- on the wifi? Or just when your are outside your wireless network and accessing it via the internet?

Unfortunately I don't know anything about the US cellular service or the hotspot. And its hard to diagnose anything over a computer screen LOL. But if you are changing the device you use to connect to your internet, IE from your wireless router to a hotspot device you are probably going to have to reconfigure the APEX networking from scratch to get everything working again. I think having a local club member over that knows a thing or two about networking the apex would be the easiest solution.

I went to the site you said. It showed the IP and said it was Mozilla! Haven't ever heard of that! I have the Apex in my Favorites and that's how I've always accessed it. So far, all the other faves/links are working...just not the Apex. That's why I'm wondering if it has something to do with Hughes. Sorry, I just don't understand this stuff /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/crazy.gif

Go ahead David, rub it in!!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif Changing is going to save me $600 a year!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif What the he** is a home network? As far as I know, everything is Wi-Fi...Hughes, US Cellular and my laptop...and the Apex?!

The only thing I know about the HotSpot is it connects me to the internet through the cellphone towers...thus wi-fi. I don't know anyone in the club close to me that has the Apex./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif

I'm not sure you can forward a port on a mobile hot spot. Without opening a port for the apex service to run on your sol.

I didn't run this that I know of. When I got the Apex, Jason helped set it up. I don't know what a router is...is it the NetGear (wireless game adapter) that I have? I have the IP address for the Apex but when I enter it ( ex::http://123.456.7.890) it doesn't bring anything up/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/angry.gif/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/angry.gif

The good news is that the Apex "Fusion" software update will resolve all of the headaches revolving around getting access to an Apex behind a router. Hopefully they release it sooner rather than later.
