The thing about DIY food meetings is other than meeting up with other people and hanging out the food is usually completely useless(in my experience). Every tank is different, the animals in the tank are different, feeding schedules are different and so on. Making food in a group and pouring a ton of crap in it usually leads to nothing more than a waste of food (in my experience). A tank with small fish and a few random corals doesn't need food with random chunks of krill floating around in it, and a tank with only fish doesn't really need oyster eggs and other coral feeding foods. I've always found it better to make my own food to fed the needs of MY tank, had far better luck doing it this way. Saves wasting food away in the tank, money, time and effort, also saves from things like hair algae and added water changes to keep levels where they should be(usually caused by rotting food hidden in the rock work). Again just my opinion

Yea, that's why I like buds idea. They make a reef food, fowlr food, predator food, and so forth. If we can get a decent order from the locals, I think it'd be worth it, possibly?

I don't know how you have had the food made on your end but over here it's been killer food, far far from useless, and was initially intended for reef tanks (at least the first batch I was in on was) so you're right there (it's a whole-tank food, and it's been awesome BTW). Also last fall we made 3 types in one shot, reef, FOWLR, and large/aggressive. Doing the same again now and learning from the last batch. As far as a bunch of crap thrown together, that's basically what Rods and Roggers is. We're doing the same thing. I don't consider my master ingredient list to have any 'crap' in it, I researched quite a bit to come up with what I feel is a very balanced and thought out mixture. I think the way it was done the first time I was involved did seem kind of 'thrown together' so my goal is to come up with a recipe that anyone in the club can use, and if possible, in smaller batches (instead of making what is now approaching 80 pounds in one shot)
