   I recently aquired a good used Aquapod 24. It came with the sponge, cermic media and bioballs. I have seen other posts telling that the sponge, balls and ceramics were unneccessary due to nitrate buildup. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this or a similar nanopod tank?

   I have a 29 biocube and ditched the bioballs and ceramic rings. Like u said, all they do is trap nitrates
