I have an ASM G5 Protein Skimmer that I'm going to be getting rid of.  It's currently in use and should be ready in about 2 weeks.  This skimmer is perfect for people that use a Rubbermaid stock tank for a sump as I have an acrylic shelf built to fit into those tanks to hold the skimmer that will come with it (I will need this for a short time to sit my new skimmer on...so it's no longer included).  This skimmer has been modified to be a recirculating skimmer to get even more performance out of it.  I've been using it for a year and I'm switching to a 75 gallon glass sump soon sumps and this skimmer will not fit into the new sump, so I have to get one with a smaller footprint.  I got brand new impellers for both pumps before I put it into action so this skimmer should be good to go for a long time.  I also have an extra O-ring that goes between the collection cup and the skimmer body.  I lost it in the sump, ordered a new one, then found the old one.
In addition to being modified to being a recirculating skimmer, a gate valve mod has also been added so that you can adjust the water height without getting your hands wet.
If you're interested in checking out this skimmer, let me know and we can arrange a viewing or I can send you pics.
Here's a stock photo of the skimmer:

ASM in-sump skimmers are constructed of extruded PVC tubing and injection molded plastic.

ASM protein Skimmers use needle wheel design on a Sedra pump for to create a finer bubble for highly effective skimming action!

Easy to use! Just set it in the sump, plug it in and adjust the outlet tube!

I just realized that I'm going to need the acrylic shelf for a while for my new skimmer to go on...until I get my new sump online. If this is an issue for any prospective buyers, please let me know and we can negotiate something that works.

I have been looking at ASM skimmers for the 120 I am getting, but unfortunately this one won't fit my stand. If it was a G4 I think we could make a deal. Good luck with the sale.

Hey David!  Thanks!  ASM skimmers are great performing skimmers.  They are basically the same design as EuroReef, but made from clear PVC instead of acrylic to bring the cost down.  There's two negative things about that...one, you can't add ozone to the skimmer as it will degrade the PVC over time 2) it's not as clear as acrylic.  The good thing is it's significantly less expensive than equally rated acrylic skimmers (ASM's are about 1/2 the price!) and being made of PVC does nothing to change the performance of the skimmer.  Anyway, if this skimmer fit in my sump, I would keep it because I've been very happy with the performance...but since it won't fit, it's gotta go.  As for height clearance, a person would need about 38" of height clearance as the collection cup twists and lifts off.
This is probably best as a remote sump skimmer like a basement sump or in a fish room behind the tank.  Mine was in the basement so I was able to gravity feed the skimmer.  Worked great!!
And if you're worried about buying too big of a skimmer for your system, don't.  This skimmer is rated for 700 gallons and my system is only about 200.

Hello all... I'm John... not new to reefing, but new to your site.
I bought the skimmer from Aaron, and he was so gracious to ship it to San Diego, CA.  Yet, we had a problem during shipping, and the two Sedra 9000 pumps are broken. They needed to be wrapped in bubble wrap, on top of the air pouches and popcorn Aaron added to the huge box. The space in the box, allowed the pumps to bump around and broke where the volute connects to the body. Probably because the intake and output had long pieces of 1" PVC glued to them and the leverage allowed the pump body to break.
None-the-less.... Aaron started a Fedex claim on 4/7. He didn't provide Fedex the proper paperwork for more then 12days (or so I found out after I called him to discuss the delays in getting the claim processed - Fedex claims 5-7 days for full term of claim). I asked every few days for a status, and didn't get much communication back. I ended up calling him a couple times over the past 30 days, to find out he didn't know what to do for proof of receipt. Or how to get Fedex the proper information they needed to process the claim. I offered some suggestions more than 10days ago over a phone call, and haven't heard back since!!
I've called twice, and left voice mails....  I've emailed 3-4 times, and still to this day.... no reply.
AARON....  ARE YOU AVOIDING ME!?!  I see you logged into the site here 3 days ago (per your profile), so I know your alive and able to get online. I thought the worst, and that you were sick or in the hospital. But, it seems you are not... or, at minimum your able to get online. So why are you completely avoiding me at this point???
Initially I even sent you paypal payment, using "personal gift" because you sent me your eBay feedback profile showing me your 100% positive feedback. Now I have no recourse to get my money back or to at minimum pay for the two broken pumps. At this point, I'm screwed.... AND, I trusted you... and I trusted that you'd see this through until the end.  Yet, I'm starting to feel like your over the problem, and just decided to go dark.  Hence me coming on your for sale thread, and asking for you to not do so... and to resolve this amicably.
I hope that you see this message... and you get a hold of me to correct this problem, and see this through to the end. (You know my emails, and my mobile number)
    Thanks,Johnny
