I think I've only had it for ~ 2 years, bought the double unit from autotopoff.com.  The bottom one works sporadically.  I've cleaned it and monkeyed with it and it sounds like its tripping the shut-off switch in the solenoid(?) but the water doesn't shut off from the reservoir.  The top one seems to be working, but noticed the other day that that one also wasn't working at least once.  What has been your experience with these lasting?  Should I order from them again?

One time I took the whole unit apart to clean it. I removed the clovis pin and then the float. When I put it back together I put the float in upside down and the topoff mechanism worked in reverse. Could that be your problem?

I have had mine for three years and it is also the double unit.

I've never taken it apart that much, just ran brushes inside and around it etc. I think I'm going to just take it all apart, clean everything really well again and put it back and see if that does it. I was reading on the site that they have a warranty of 2 years, but will replace a part that's not working, so that's good if in fact its broken /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

They have AWESOME customer service. I am willing to bet if you contact them they would fix it for free. I have had mine for 2+ years and only had 1 problem with mine which was totally my fault, they took care of it regardless.

I've had problems when water has gotten down where the wires run into the switch. It doesn't take too much at all and the water gets inside and rusts out the magnets inside and they fuse together.
