Thanks man, great article. I have some kent kalk, but I don't think I want to use it after reading that article. I think I'll get some kalk from BRS! 
Do I keep a power head in my brute 44 gal to keep it mixed up? What about the sludge on the bottom, can I just raise my pump to prevent it from sucking that crap in?
It's possible I might have missed a few things in that article, not saying I skipped any paragraphs, just a ton to remember!

 

No the ph isn't needed. Once the water is saturated you want it to settle out. And yes add some eggcrate on the bottom or make a stand from it to keep your pump iin the clear zone of the water. Id use up your kent while you have it. Nothing wrong with it. Kalk is kalk really. Use what you like. But you can't beat the price of the pickling lime. And the ease of use.

 

Yea, I'm going to get a 20 gallon rubbermaid brute and use that as my ATO reservoir with my kalk

Should I remove the pump when mixing and waiting for the sediment to settle? Or can I just leave it in there?

It can take a while to settle out. And you don't want any solids making it into your tank. Mayhbed have 2 containers and jujst switch the pump over when one is low. And adding water to the freshly empty will stir up the kalk again. It should def be settled by the time your other container empties.

 

I think I'll get a separate brute container like 44 gal and mix it up in there and then pump that water after it settles into my ATO reservoir.
Edit: I will put a gate valve a 1/4 the way up to avoid the sediment, and pump it out at way

So I'm going to leave the ATO, rodi, and use a kalk reactor for dosing needs. More worried about ph than anything. I'll tie that into my apex as well.

I purchased the ATO tunze from Gered, but apparently there are some shipping issues. Still haven't got it yet, waiting very patiently!
