Well after letting our mated pair hold a few times we decided to give rearing bangii's a go. Our male had been holding for around 3 weeks now and tonight we caught him and stripped his eggs, it looks like around 20 to 25 babies. They are still pretty small and have there sacks yet. With alot of luck we might have a few that make it. I'll keep everyone posted

Alright :=0) Hope they make it! What do you plan to feed them? Can you describe the rearing tank? Thanks and good luck!

As on now the rearing tank is my display tank, i borrowed a small cage from Andrew and Craig and I'm sure I'll be feeding whatever they feed. We have one swimmer as of this morning so all fingers are crossed.

Just a quick update, with some help from andrew down at acc and alot of early morning feedings we have 9 babys that have had there 12 day bday. there are swimming really well and are eatting selcon soaked cyclopeeze. And on a bonus note i came home tonight to find the male (from what it looks like to me) holding again, i plan on feeding tomorrow and watching to see if he's eatting, he's been shy for a day or two now and thats usually a good sign he's packin. So now i think since our family is expanding we might invest in a few more smaller tanks, one for the pair and a smaller one for the grow out tank. So......this club may have a decent supply of healthy tank raised bangii's soon

i'll do my best to get some pics up, my wife has been taking shots almost every day, honestly without her pushing to try this whole deal i probably wouldn't have. She's taken a new liking to the fish tank and whats going on with it so some good has definitely come from all this

I would definitely take pics daily if I had a breeding pair! You are also lucky to have your wife getting/being involved now :=0) Maybe she's found her niche for breeding fish?! How many do you have right now? I'd like first dibs....probably want 5 :=0)

We have 5 that are doing awesome there almost a half an inch now! Keep track as close as you can to when he started holding, if you can get him out of the tank and get the eggs from him you'll definitely increase the chance for survival, other than that i think it was pretty much for me dumb luck.

He's been holding 3 or 4 days now...sounds like it's time to take some action. Thanks for the heads up.
