Just curious, I know it's personal taste, but what color background do you guys use?

I feel blue detracts from the 'depth' of the tank more so than black does. If you keep your back wall clean of coraline and other algae, having a black back wall can lend itself to make your tank appear deeper than it is.

I used the same midnight black acrylic enamel paint that I used to paint my tank stand with.

Well, seems like I'm leaning more toward black background too. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything!

    Thanks!

I used a black acrylic film I purchased from a local sign shop. It squeegies on just like window film and it can be removed easily.
