So I've determined that its the Ballast that's bad on the lights I acquired. Its a 400 watt PFO dual ballast. One side works, the other not so much. One of the on/off switches is gone from the front... maybe thats it? maybe electrical? Is anyone good with fixing these things? or should I just look into buying a new one. Would like to fix it if possible. Any Advice? Thanks!

You can bypass the switches. If you're a brave person, open it up and see if you can see any physical damage (i.e. swollen capacitors, charring from arcing, etc.) If it were me, I would only bypass the switch. Anything past that is beyond my pay grade and I'm not brave enough to do considering the amount of electricity you're talking about. A new ballast is not that horrible. Keep in mind that you can still use it for the one light and a single ballast for the other. The big thing will be to try to match your connection plug types.

Thanks aj. I might have to go that route with the single ballast for the other light. Do u know if its difficult to bypass the switch or what would have to be done to so it? I think it is the switch cause when I was testing it last night to find out what was wrong it wanted to fire up the light but it would fully stay on when I played with the switch.

It should just be two or three wires in and the same number out. Just connect them straight thru, put something over the hole in the case and you should be good to go.
