I have a bullet 3, it that I just set up. It worked pretty well for a day or two then the becket chamber filled with water and no longer sucks air. Now if I restart it it runs well for about 30 seconds and then the same thing happens./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/crazy.gif

Guess I should have said that the air valve was wide open. I tried it at different degrees of partially open without success.

Casey, I have the bullet 2and my becket will fill with water up to the holes too, but it still sucks much more air that it doesn't affect it. Does it eventually just stop sucking air then and overfill the skimmer if you don't shut if off? What pump are you running with it?

I hae an Iwaki pump. not sure right now which one. Yeah it fills the becket chamber all the way to the air valve. Then the skimmer cylinder bets clea of bubles and clean water flows over the top.. I will try ot take a video tonight. Adam you could come by and fix it and sell me some of that home made food LOL

Yea I could come over tonight, I'm going home for family stuff after class tomorrow, so if tonight doesn't work it'll have to be sometime after Sunday. I work til 9 tonight, do you want me to come over afterwards? How many bags do you want? We've got 10 or so left, should I bring them all? /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

The skimmer is working real good. I've had it shut off this week because it filled the 5 gallon bucket(as it has many times) and I'm going to plumb the collection cup to drain straight to the basement drain. I have all the plumbing, I've just been procrastinating doing it. I was actually planning on plumbing it tonight if I don't stay up too late doing homework and studying for a test tomorrow.

Casey- Matt also gave me an extra beckett with the one he sold me, I can bring that over when I come and we can try to fiddle with it to see if we can piece you together a working skimmer!

Haven't heard from you yet, so I'll probably see you Sunday night or any time Monday.

    adam,

have you tried submerging the skim outlet into the bucket? the back pressure will shut down the skimmer a bit from overflowing... (and bubble like crazy) it wont' stop stop it like a true auto shutoff though.

Yea, I didn't have any problems with it overflowing, I just don't have room for a bucket under my stand. I want to have as much room for filtration under there as I can, so I'm just going to run a tube to a drain for it to spill into.

Casey, I'll give you a call when I'm on my way back to Cedar Falls on Sunday. How many bags of food did you want? They are $12 a bag, you won't be disappointed!
