    Thinking about a trip next January to Belize. One of the key interests would be in snorkeling on the barrier reef. Whose been???? What was your experience???

    I myself have never been there. I once did a report on the belize blue hole that is about 1 mile off of the coast of Belize city. I have always wanted to go there. My boss traveled there last year and his experience wasn't so great. He said it felt very "3rd worldish" but, those are his words not mine. I would still love to go snorkeling in the Belize blue hole it is a gorgeous landmark.

    I have been to Belize 2x on a cruise ship and SCUBA dove both times.


    The reefs looked untouched.


    Yes Belize is very 3rd worldish, you will not have many of the conviences of home there.

    I went about 5 years ago. I have been to Cozumel and it is amazing. Belize was even better for me. Even if you are just a little adventurous, just go. Pm me any questions.

    Carrie and I went February of 2012, it was great. The reef is just off the coast, real short boat ride. Snorkel and scuba were both amazing.
