So I noticed what look like bite marks on my magnificent foxface the other day. Tonight I notice on on my powder brown. THey look like pretty big marks for any of the fish in my tank. The only ones that are big enough to maybe make them are the niger trigger and the starry blenny I haven't seen agression from anyone and the two fish with the marks aren't showing other signs of injury or stress. Any thoughts?

You can see them a little about halfway down his side here.

I see what you're talking about Jason. That looks like the fish have been scraping themselves against the rock. Either getting spooked and darting into the rock accidentally scraping themselves or itching due to surface parasites. Probably nothing to really worry about, although I would keep an eye on them.

Watch for saturation of color. Often external parasites like ich or monogeans will irritate the scales and make them over-secrete slime coat which leads to the fish looking shiny and hazy. In coarser scaled fish you can see the scales appear bumpy. These fish have finer, smaller scales and it doesn't really present that way. Both types of scales will appear hazy and almost look like "dry" skin. Of course exactly the opposite is the case.
