Well the first part of this kinda bites. I lost my job of 13 years. So with no job I was worried how things would happen. Just little thigs like power staying on, running water, and just how I was to get food. So nothing major. Well when I told my wife she just said ok, you stay home with the kids and I will go to work and just like that she started bak to work. No idea how that happened but it did. And between her job and what I should get fom unemployment I may have twice the income I had before. So I was worried for what? I did not like my job had to force myself to go towork in the morning and by noon could not even force a fake smile just to be polite. So all I can say is loosing my job seems to be a blessing instead of a curse. And one more plus, more time to improve my tank and work on getting things together down here. Shaun

It's all fun and games until unemployment runs out.....

Unless you feel like explaining to your next employer how you "just decided to live off unemployment for a year or two" it might not be a bad idea to start looking for a another job.

    Been there done that.

Good luck Shaun! If you weren't happy there anyhow, this may just be your window of opportunity for something better! Are you looking for some line of work in particular?

I am thinking of taking some classes and picking up a degree. Or stepping up my pilots license so I can fly for hire. Just a few ideas I am kicking around. Right now if I think about it I have 13 years in inventory conteol, forklift operation, quality control, shipping/reieving, mold setting, plumbing, basic electrical, problem solving, saftey team/ emt, Team leading, and more. My job had encompassed so much that it had gotten to the point of not wondering how you were going to get everything done but wich parts were high enough on priority to get done and if you had time to work on the rest then good otherwise you had to leave it for the next shift. I was always in a rush and skipping breaks just to get as much done as possible. Then managment getting mad that everything did not get finished up. My last review my supervisor gave "exceeds expectations" on almost every point. But guess what, I did my best gave everything I had to get the job done and did more than I was asked.
As I move on I know that I will bounce back. I have had several interveiws and one company that has a possible offer but needs to completle a new settup before hiring. So I have options and many paths to take. I just need to gather info and deide what path to take and wih direction I want to go from here. Shaun
