So I've got me some bryopsis that's trying to grow everywhere in my tank. If anyone would like some I'd be willing to share. I've heard all around the internet that raising your Mg levels to about 1500+ kills it off by ruining its photosynthesis capabilities. I'm going to try this but was wondering if anyone else here had battled with this beast before?

My best results have come from peroxide dips. I didn't have a huge amount invading though so I only had to do 2 rocks with a couple zoas attached. It worked well, they turned white then black and fell apart.

Yes, but you MUST you Tech M from Kent. There is a by product in theirs that kills the byrospis. Other brands will not kill it.

what Craig said. Best results I have seen is using that exact product and raising your MAG slowly to around 1800.

After a week and a half of a high Mg (1600+) the stuff is still spreading like wildfire. So I've received some Tech M to which I'll try this to see if it actually does work. i've heard good things so I'm hopefully about this working. If not i'll just buy fish who like to hide in green bushes X_X.

No one in Des Moines carried the stuff, so it took time to order and for shipping. I do value your advice along with that of all the other members here. I figured there'd be no harm in using the rest of my BRS magnesium solution until the Tech M got here.

I'm wondering if you'll need to lower your Mg and raise it again using the tech M. Otherwise the amount of tech M actually being used is going to be very minima since you Mg is already high using the brs stuff.

You might be right Lee. I went through two bottles of the 16oz Tech M followed the directions on the bottle for raising the level up to 100ppm per day and the algae has increased to be taller; however, I have noticed it has changed more from the feather like algae pieces to almost just thick single strands. I'm going to be patient for a week or two to see how things develop.
