So, I bought a piece of live rock with a BTA on it and attached to it was a flame scallop. Upon further investigation the piece of live rock has aptasia on it as well. I do not want to introduce the aptasia to my aquarium. So as of right now the rock and all its inhabitants are sitting in my quarantine tank waiting for me to do something with them. My questions go like this. 1, how do I get the BTA to detach. 2, how to I get the scallop to detach, can I just pull him off. 3, would I be better off taking the time to try and kill the aptasia and hope that I actually get it all? I have had a power head almost directly on the BTA since I went and got him last Saturday. Any suggestions?

Put some other rock around him & wait for him to crawl over. Change light intensities & so on.

Flame scallop is attached by a little foot. piss him off & he will release & move too

Ive had awesome results with peppermint shrimp taking care of aptasia. I think ACC is bringing some to SF pretty cheap. I had a 75 loaded with them. Bought 5 from Drs Fosters and with in a week they wiped my tank clean of them!
