I'm going bug bomb my house this next weekend for ants and spiders. I'm going to put plastic all away around my tank and stand taped at the bottom. Then going to lay a couple sheets over the tank with light off for a few hours. I did this along time ago with a fresh water setup and no problems.
Any thoughts what I should do?

yes that should work, but remember to take any buckets or anything you might use for your tank and remove them from the house. Anything you might use that is.

shut your skimmer off, and if you can when you turn it back in run the air intake line to fresh air from the outside. Other than that do your best to keep the tank completely isolated. Having fresh carbon running and ready to change out would probably be a good idea as well.

Good luck and hope everything goes OK.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't think about shutting down the skimmer.

The bug bomb stuff is designed to get into every nook and cranny. Every crack and crevasse. How do you plan to provide non-toxic air to the water during the time that the bombs are doing their thing? Or are you just going to treat it like a power outage and leave things at a minimal level?

I misunderstood you. I guess I should have asked the question back. Are you turning everything off? Also with freshwater you should have done the same. Every thing off on your tank but maybe a power head towards the bottom of tank and not creating any surface movement in water.
You need to tightly cover your whole tank and let bug bomb completely dry before you remove plastic from around the tank.
I think it's a good idea to treat it like a power outage at this point. Your tank should be fine if you cover everything tightly and turn everything off. I had to bug bomb freshwater once with 20 tanks going. Didn't lose a thing . Move every think linked to your tank out of house.

Planning on a complete shut down when bombing. My mixing station is going in the garage so it won't be affected. I'mggoing to tape the seems of the plastic around the tank. I t will only be a few hours the I'll open the house up to provide ventilation.

You could rig up a piece of PVC pipe to the outside with a fan on it to force positive outside air pressure into the tank bubble. Wouldn't need much air pressure but that would allow you to keep the tank running normally (no lights) for a few hours.
