I am thinking about doing a bulkreefsupply.com order this week (maybe friday) and was wondering if anybody else was interested in ordering anything else.  I am going to be ordering around 50# of dry rock and if anybody else wants some, we could get a better deal.  Let me know if anybody is interested.
    Thanks,
    Joe

I am in Waukee and would be more than happy to have stuff shipped to my house and then distribute it to people. I have somebody that is home durring the day to accept the shipment. How many pounds were you wanting?

Which of their dry rock packages were you thinking of ordering from? I may be interested as well. Would also be interested in pH probes, but only really if we had some more buyers to be able to get the bulk discount (5+ probes must be ordered). I would be in for two probes at the bulk price.

I was thinking about geting the BRS Pukani Dry Aquarium Eco Rock (http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/brs-pukani-dry-aquarium-eco-rock.html) If we order over 100# its $2.70/#. The mixed rock is on sale but I dont think its as good. It sounds like the Pukani is less dense which means more rock for the weight. I don't need any probes but I'm sure somebody might.

This is what I was thinking about getting:

    50+# Pukani Dry rock
    GFO reactor
    1# GFO Granular
    Salifert Calcium test
    Salifert Alk test
    One cartridge refill of DI

Cool. I'm in Waukee too. I'm needing 25lbs of the eco rock (on sale for 1.89).

Put me down for the 25lbs if that works for you. If you don't want to front the bill, let me know and I can get you some money for my part.

    Thanks,
    Jason

I talked to Bullkreefsupply and they said as long as we get 100# total they would give us the bulk pricing on rock. The mixed rock is on sale for 1.87 and there is no discount on that but the rest of the rock would be eligable for the bulk pricing.

That's pretty cool of them, actually. Any idea what the price of shipping would look like? I am tempted, but I am also looking into tampabaysaltwater as they basically cherry pick to your size and shape requests as best they can and the cost of the rock is about $2.70 SHIPPED. I am looking for 15-20lb+ rocks and am worried about the sizes BRS would send.

It looks like if we ordered 100# the shipping would add about $0.38/# and there would be no other charges. I talked to them and they told me that the pukani is all bigger peices there is no rubble or smaller peieces. He also said that it is one of the lightest types of rock you can get so you get the most for your money. Im not sure how they compare to tampabaysaltwater but I think that the tampabay rocks look like they would be a little heavier.

I can tell you from first hand experience that the BRS pukani rock is great.  The only problem I had is I got too much /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif  I ordered 15# and got 3 great looking rocks.  Each one was 8-9" in all directions.  Very porous.  I've still got one of the pieces sitting around, because it was too much for my tank (I already had 80# in the tank).  I've been too lazy to getting around to selling the third rock - but Gered has spoke for it now.
BRS will also hand pick the pieces for you if you tell them the size you are looking for.

Well, I wouldn't mind filling out the last 25 pounds to get the order up to 100 pounds as sort of a test if I like the rock or not. I am more worried about size than anything, so if you can request a rock as close to 25 pounds as possible, that would be awesome.

I'll be happy to fill the order out; but I'm a long way off from you in Wilton. I make it to CR and Waterloo pretty often if there is a link that way. I could use #15 or so of the Pukani and 10 or so of the shelf.

I could use about 50 # of the Pukani.  It sounds like it will fill up quite a bit of the 75 gal I just bought.

I'm fine with ordering equipment too as I am planning on doing so as well. If you want equipment please pm or post what you would like and the price.
Here's what I have for rock so far:

    flyingmorray: 50# pukani
    cybball: 25# mixed
bela: 25# pukani (largest possible pieces)
    cowdust9: 10# shelf
    bluefool: 15# pukani 10# shelf
    Gered: other
    mcclandy 100# pukani 2 bulkheads
    stew: 50# pukani

I will give them a call tomorrow to get the pricing on the shelf rock, then I will post peoples totals. What do people think about ordering? I was thinking about calling the order in on friday morning. Let me know if that doesn't work with anybody. I am willing to let the people that are just buying rock to pay me when they pick up their rock. Also if you are just ordering cheaper other products I will take payment for those on pickup as well.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Looks like you guys have all you need for the order to be discounted. If you would, just remove me, as I am leaning towards just getting an "all in one" order from tampa bay saltwater.

If there is anyone interested in the BRS branded pH probes, I am in need of two if we could get the bulk pricing.
    Thanks.

If enough people order BRS has some kind of deal where we can all become "Preferred Customers".  Not sure what that gets us but if it's future discounts I'm all for it.  I think they'll also package all the orders separately so handling should be minimized.  If we are also ordering equipment I need a pressure gauge for sure and might add more after I get through the BRS website.

Pukani is fine for me if they are giving a discount.  Change mine to Pukani if it isn't too late.  If it is too late, no problem at all.  I'm looking for big pieces anyway.

    Thanks,

    Jason
