I know there is a tone of good reading in the archives as well as online but I value the local members opinions and experiences. I understand the basics, pros and cons of each method just enough to be confused and dangerous.
I am looking for feedback, input, life lessons, etc. from those that implement either a dosing or reactor. Also, the whole Kalkwasser issue boggles me. I realize some use a combination of these methods. Please let me know your opinions, thoughts, regrets, successes. Lets get the wheels turning. Thanks all.

Kalk is your easiest option but will only work to a point. That is to say, it won't keep up with a heavy stocked stoney system. There is only so much saturation the kalk water can take and there is only so much evaporation your tank have in a given amount of time. Calcium reactors are probably the most expensive, but can be a "set it and forget it" situation for a much longer time than kalk generally is.

Thanks for the link. Very informative video and input that is not biased to any option.

Along this line... I've seen a lot of sucessful tanks running the balling method (similar to two part dosing - usually 3 components dosed through an automated process). I've actually considered switching over to this method so I can keep certain parameters dialed in more appropriately. I currently use a calcium reactor and will have to make adjustments (to either Ca, Alk, or Mg) independantly by manually dosing since my reef's needs aren't apparently 1:1:1 with the output from the calcium reactor. It just seems like it gives you another element of control and with the use of an automated doser it does have somewhat of a "set it and forget it" aspect to it.
