Cap tips bleaching

    My red cap is starting to bleach. Its toward the top in my Biocube. Pretty close to the return nozzle. Is the stock pcs not strong enough for the cap?

    It is hard to tell if it is bleaching from the top or all over in the picture. Is there actually RTN going on, or white tip growth?

    My caps all have white edge where the are growing. Without an up close shot, it's hard to say, but looks pretty normal to me.

    Ill try and get another pic. But its just the tips. I was told it grows well but wow. 1/8" in less than a week? Awesome

    Yep, sounds like growth. Cap is the SPS equivalent of a weed. It looks really nice until it gets to a certain size and then the issues begin. If you put it at the top of your tank, you better be sure that anything below it enjoys shade.

    Lol yep Travis that's why I asked for picture bud. Tips turn white when new growth is forming. That is how almost all coral grow.

    Looks good by the way keep it up it will grow fast for you if your tank is doing well. 1/8 inch is not uncommon at all. My purple cap grew almost 3/4in while gone in Florida for 10 days

    Well im happy its doin well. If it gets out of hand ill just start fragging it. Lol
