I am thinking of adding a carbon reactor to my sump. I have always used it in my freshwater tanks and like the water clarity and removal of organics it provides. Wondering what people opinions are are running carbon for reef tanks?

I use a dual carbon reactor in my tank and I love it. It helps keep my tank crystal clear.[IMG]

Looks good Roman, Yes I would add for clearness. Plus keeps the smell down as well.

Consider Purigen as well, you can recharge it up to 7 times (bleach soak then thorough rinse, like new), lasts months between charges depending on your water conditions. You can put the mircomesh bags in a media reactor or not, it just needs to have flow.

How does purigen work with an algae scrubber Turbo? Ive been considering switching back to it from carbon but was concerned it would compete with my scrubber. I run a skimmer and carbon with it currently.

skimmer and carbon/purigen do not compete with an algae scrubber. I typically recommend this combo for SPS tanks.

I run carbon and purigen passively in my sump. I consider carbon to be an important part of my system.
