Just a shot of the first night of the new lighting system. Love my carpet nem. He's had a huge growth spurt the past month. Easily a good 10-11" across. By far my favorite of the tank.

I do not. Tank isn't interesting enough yet to have a YouTube channel. Not much in it at the moment. Two fish and a few frags. And the carpet of course.

It was touch and go for a while at the beginning. Thought he was a goner for sure. But he surprised me

Felt like playing around with the good ol' dslr brushing off the skills and getting some good shots of the tank...
Two questions for anyone out there..
For any photography buffs - What are some tips to get a good picture of a dark fish? I have a brown heniochus that I just could not for the life of me get a good picture of! Had a hard time getting a good one of the clown too
Secondly, anyone know why the coraline algae doesn't grow in the top half of my tank? You can see it in some of the pics? Thanks!!

Iv noticed on my tank that the green film algae that grows on the glass does the same thing itll grow on the botton 2/3 of the glass but not the top 1/3. I thought that was weird to

Ha never thought of that! I thought it was somehow the lights didnt directly hit that part of the glass so it didnt grow. But your makes way more sense.

I had it caked on the back. dropped the water in the tank to catch a fish and it's a straight line across the back where the water stopped

Very nice pics. Is the yellow tang new? He looks very thin like maybe you just got him.

The tang is about 6 months old. Should he be much fatter than he currently is? I feed twice a week with nori and krill or Shrimp. He has plenty of natural algae on the rocks that he grazes on. I used to feed more but had problems with nitrates so I cut back.
