Help!! Cedar Rapids Par meter

    I was wanting to use the Cedar rapids area par meter. Hooked up some new lights and would like to see where I am at.

    I believe Candi has it. I just sent her a message.
    I'm out of town next week, but I'll try to arrange to get it passed off, then get a list together for people that are wanting to use it.

    I talked to candi a few months ago bout borrowing it and never heard anything back. Need to get a bit more organized with where it is and who has it and for how long. Roman let me know when you are done with it. I will just pick it up from you in town here some morning.

    No problem. I can even pick it up from her in marion if she is through using it.

    Not trying to muddy waters either but the use of the par meter is for paying club members as a benefit. 20 bucks is a small price to pay for membership and it allows the club to maintain this website and the spring and fall fest and to purchase club use equipment. I feel the club membership fee is well worth the fee for the benefits I receive through club membership participation.

    Is that in reference to me Roman? I am a member to the club, a new member at that as I paid my membership fee at springfest in waterloo.

    It was but it doesn't say that you aren't a GIRS paid member on your insignia

    It should have a yellow badge under your name as GIRS member and yours does not. I am not trying to piss anyone off. I am just stating that there is a lot of benefit to each of us who pay to keep this site going. If you have a paid membership then you need to contact the board to have that changed because there are other things you can access on the site with s paid membership.

    No it doesn't say that under my username and I'm not sure why that is. It does however say that I am a member in my profile that's easily accessed by clicking on the picture. Which I'm not sure on but I don't think a guest could setup an account with a picture could they? Regardless, my membership started at the time of the site switch over/update in thebspring and I'm assuming that is why I don't have a "label" but to my knowledge I seem to have access to plenty on the site.

    Thank you though for looking out for the club. I understand where you're coming from and I will be contacting someone in regards to getting a label to avoid some misunderstanding like this again.

    For years a paid member has always had a badge under the screen name or whatever that says GIRS Member which means you are a paid member. The ones without it were members of the site such as a guest member. Not that they didn't welcome the non paid members but it was a way to distinguish a person as a supporter of the group. I believe reef central is similar you can be a member of the community but there are individuals that pay a fee to reef central and there insignia states that they are a different level of supporter not that I don't quite know what that gets you.

    I do understand the significance of having an easily visible label and I have contacted the webmaster to get a resolution to me not having one.

    I will say that I have noticed plenty of other members that don't have a profile picture or a yellow label but have been members for years, atleast according to their profiles. And again, this is easily accessed by simply clicking on their picture or the blank square with the term "contact" under it. A simple click of the mouse and taking a brief moment to read someone's profile is a nice way to prevent a rude mistake.

    Just because it says you been a member since a certain date does not indicate that you are a paid GIRS member. It only indicates when you join the club. And pardon me if you believe I am being rude I am just protecting our clubs interest. And of discussion all I want is to use the par meter.it is getting way off topic

    We like to have it come back to the trustee after every member checks it out. That we can can check it over, make sure all is good and pass it on to the next member and know exactly where it goes.
    Problem is right now CR really doesn't have a trustee. I was supposed to get it back from Candi after she was done with it, but that never happened.
    If anyone has her number and can make arrangements to get it from her that would be great. I don't know how much she is online to see the PM i sent. Just keep me in the loop about where its at. Then when I get back from vacation I'll make arrangements to get it and we'll go down the list.

    "Member" in Xenforo (the forum software) and GIRS Paid Member, which is what everyone refers to when they say "Member" are 2 different things.

    It's a point of confusion that I've brought up to XF, to us, a non-paid member is a "user" not a "member" but forum software doesn't always play happily with this.

    @Drewster@Drewster I'll look into this for you, I seem to recall upgrading your account under the old system so I'm not sure why this didn't come over if this is indeed the case. We also keep a log of all paid memberships...we'll figure this out.
