Today I had the opportunity to visit Central Campus, a High School in Des Moines (Like an upper level type school) thanks to Craig from Anemones, Clowns & Corals. I don't know much about this school other then it has a  Marine Lab as well as several other "specialty type courses", This place was awesome!, the students who attend classes at this facility are very lucky!
I've been in this hobby for about 3 years now and feel I've learned  a bit from other members, local fish store owners and of course, literature, but to see what these kids get to dig their hands into at this school is simply phenomenal!
Why there aren't more schools like this one in this state is beyond me. Our state senators and representatives really need to visit this facility and see if it can't be copied and taken into other communities. I certainly wish I would have had this opportunity when I was in high school!
The main reason I wanted to share this story with everyone is, as I was walking out of the lab for the trip back home (Waterloo), one of the students came up to me and asked, "Are you the guy that brought the fish in?" I said yes, and she said "Thank you" ( Keep in mind, I was just the delivery guy)
I was so impressed at how mature, sincere and how grateful these kids were!
I know this  isn't a place for the public to see such as a "Science Museum" or what have ya, but if any of you for what ever reason gets the opportunity to visit this place, don't hesitate, not only will you see a very interesting lab setting, you may have the opportunity to visit with some very smart young adults--------OUR FUTURE!

Yes it is truly an amazing place.

One of my goals this year is to continue to work with the school on fundraisers & awareness.

Dr. Stiles and her staff does a great job and that place has improved dramatically since I went to school there.
