Question: Is this a chalice? I'm thinking it is and don't really see any "eyes".

If so - do I frag it by simply cutting or breaking it off? I'm going to move it off the sand and may frag it before doing so if there's interest in it.

    Thanks!

Looks like a chalice. Do you have a dremel? Breaking it could damage the tissue more than necessary.

I always thought chalices had to be fragged around eyes, but I never really got into them. The ones I had I was too chicken to try to frag so I can't say for certain.

I've always been afraid to cut corals like that. I was always afraid my nice looking coral would end up dead.

A saw or Dremel is fine. Breaking it off could damage tissue. I leave an eye on each peice.
Pic isn't close enough to see the eyes. But looks like a chalice to me. I usually do an lugols dip after fragging.
