What do you mean I have "a Million" timers? I have an apex that controls everything.....

I think he is referring to the timers available on the AI controller.

You can get a control unit with the AI that allows you to set up to 14 different settings for your lights for different parts of the day.

For instance I plan on starting with mine on at 11am with and have a 60 minute ramp up time wit a 20/30/30. after 15 minutes or so of that it will ramp up for 60 minutes to a 30/40/40 and hold that for 6 hrs and start to ramp down . I have not had a chance to play with mine yet but thats the general idea.

I'm thinking about AI's too. 72"L by 18"w x 24D...to inside of the canopy top, add another 8-10".  It's acrylic so there's eurobace...I think that's what it is called./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/unsure.gif  How many for my tank?/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif  Thanks!

You should be able to get by with 3 of them no problem. Remember you can order different optics for the AI's and switch them out to get better spread of the light. I don't see why you would want 4, where would you put the 4th light? I'm assuming by the dimensions of your tank it's a standard 180 gallon? Each opening in between the center braces is 2' x 2', with three total openings. Unless you wanted one of the openings brighter, it really only makes sense to buy 3 or buy 6.

I'm pretty sure my apex will take care of that no problem.
I bought 5 pendants with rails hanging kit, Neptune module and controller. Pick em up this weekend hopefully

I run 3 on my 150 and 3 on my 125. Both sets are SOL Blues been running them for a year I love them. You can also mount them different ways to get more spread by turning them one way or the other. By raising them them up or lowering them helps as well I have mine about 12 inches above the tank.

You will need either an AI controller or a VDM module (from APEX) to control those lights.

Also AI is releasing very soon (they claim), a different railing kit. I saw them at MACNA. It is a simple piece of heatsink that connects all your lights. Super low profile. If that is what you are looking for. The railing kit that is out now is very obtrusive IMO....
