Also. I  Just got a Neptune apex and I love it. Its ready to go for dimming led's with the variable speed ports.

Well as you can see I have been absent for quite some time. I did get the lights all done and will post up some pics of how they turned out.

OK so finally got the pictures loaded on Photobucket so here we go.

I drilled and tapped each hole

After placing all LEDs in place. My 120s lights have space for 4 more LEDs per side and the 75 has room for 6 more if I want or need to add more later .

First test fire of just the blues and whites. This was with only 1/2 of the power.[IMG]

All of my drivers and stuff were mounted to a piece of an acrylic tank I had laying around

Lights with blues, whites, greens, and reds all hooked up and on 1/2 power

after taping up all the wires and getting them mounted in the hood we tested just the blues and whites at 25% power

here is 40% power with the whites, blues, greens and reds

    and moonlights only

And here are some photos of the corals I have in the tank and the growth they have had. the first one is from right after I bought the corals from one of the guys on here in June and the second is now..... I will add that these are after I have fragged a few of the corals to give to my parents. This is the first time I have looked at the 2 photos and I cant believe how much they have all grown!

*EDIT* found this pic which shows the whole tank. Enjoy

That is some nice looking work! How high are your lights above the water and what power (or current) do you have running your LEDs?

I took a pic of how my lights are hung. They are 12.5 inches above the water. power is at 750 I think. been awhile since i checked. You can also see my fan system above then cut into the topper. I didn't want the fans attached to the heatsink themselves so this will work better bringing new air into the topper. The total cost for both 120 and 75 gallon tanks lights were 700 bucks if I remember right. The ones for my tank were around 450 because of the bigger heatsinks and bigger drivers. I still need to get a controller made but haven't taken the time yet.

HAHA I would think about doing things like that but I probably shouldn't take on another project before I finish the doors for my stand....

    Thanks for the complement.

Thought I would also post a pic of the algae scrubber lights I built for my tank. I went to a local computer parts store and asked if they had any old junk cpu heatsinks they wanted rid of and found 4 that were perfect for the job. Then with some of the extra lights left over after my big tanks build I used them. I drilled and tapped the holes for these also. If I ever have an issue with them I will put more red in them but so far I collect around a Cup and a half off my screen each week.

I built spash guards for them by putting the acrylic in the oven on a heatsink I got to build a second set of scrubber lights for the 75 and let it get soft then bent them with a form I made. They fit on the heatsink tight enough that they do not need screws to hold them thankfully.

    After bending.
