Did a major tank cleaning a couple weeks ago, notice a couple bubbles of green bubble algea. It's below the sand most of the time which explains why its not growing an spreading.

What's the best way to get this clam out of tank to get those buggers off without causing harm to foot etc.

Use a razor and cut as close to the rock as possible. I have done this with no ill effects.

Most of the time if you just kind of twist back and forth and pull the foot will let go.

No luck on the twist n pull tactic. Better give her a shot of whiskey first?

Get a hammer and chisel and chisel off a small layer of rock that the foot is attached to. The clam will come loose with the rock fragment still attached. With time it will let go of it.

The rock mass is around 80 ibs. Or the chip thing would work

I can't get to the foot. Clam is wedged into rock too much. Didn't want you to feel I didn't value your input

Suppose I put a powerhead on it?

I would try a power head or chisel around it as stated before. At one of the stores I used to work at we always encouraged people to let the clams "attach " to a small piece or rock or disc first then place that in your rock work. That way if you want to move it/need to move it in the future you can.
