Ok here we go...I have been around saltwater for 10 years looking for other opinions please. What is the best snail for hair algae I have let my tank go for awhile as I had a large puffer (eating snails). He is gone now and trying to get my 125 in check. Phosphates are a lil high I am dealing with them now. Nitrates 15 ppm. Here is a pic of a rock. The brown algea comes off fairly easy I am just tired of dealing with it. Prefer snails....crabs are picks and eat snails. Trying to upload pic...

I like the little snails I think their called Cerinth. They get into all the smaller areas that the turbo snails can't. Turbo snails do a pretty decent job too, but they can knock stuff over.

What do you have living in tank now? I may have a better suggestion than more livestock

The black footed trochus snails are incredible, but they are pricy.

I find the cleanup crews work best for maintaining the tank between your maintenance schedule.

If you don't have anything too sensitive to tank conditions such as acropora I would suggest filter socks on your drain and start stirring it all up. Scrub what you can with a tooth brush to get the bulk of it all. Catch big stuff with the net and let the socks do the rest. You will have stuff that is stubbern, I syphon it out into the drain and let the return pump keep the tank full. If you can't get to the drain a bucket works. When finished do a 20% water change. Cover the display tank with black plastic and do a lights out. 3 days later pull plastic, do a 20% water change. After this, reevaluate.
