I just bought a Desjardini Sailfin Tang and got a good deal on it because it's right eye is cloudy and has some discoloration above and below the tail fin (seen in picture). I have him in the quarantine tank right now. I have some Dr. G's anti-bacteria food and anti-parasite food that I have already feed him and he eats it right away.

My question is, is this food enough to help him get rid of the cloudy eye and discoloration or should I use a different food or do something else?

I've never bought a fish before knowing that it wasn't 100% healthy. [IMG]

Vita Chem and new life spectrum pellets have worked for me in the past.

From your experience, how long did it take for the cloudy eye to go away?

I've had a cloudy eye in a lionfish before. Sometimes it can be due to poor water quality or just a sickness. See if feeding it well and good clean water work. Then you could try meds if that doesn't help.

Just as an update. I used the Dr. G's bacterial treatment food for 2 weeks (fed this twice a day) and the cloudy eye went away and the color in the tail fins came back. I also feed seaweed once a day. Looks happy and healthy now. Ready for the main display.
