Hello again. I have had my 40 breeder set up for about 4 months. I came home from work today to find it somewhat cloudy. I know this can sometimes happen from a bacterial bloom but have not added anything to the tank for a few weeks. My last water change was a 4 gallon on tuesday where I vacumed a very small area of my sand bed. This was the first time I vacumed since my tank was setup. Everything looks good and doesnt seem stressed and water params are not out of wack. Didn't find any thing dead or decaying. Just curious if I had anything to worry about or should i just let it run its course. Could it be anything serious if it is not a bacterial bloom. I am running fresh carbon and filter pad. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    John

Just curious....do you have any fish? It could have been the left overs of a fish kicking up sand

Hey glaspie. I only have 4 perc's. its like a fog. everything looks ok though except my leather is shedding again. Just went thru this a few days ago and its doing it again. Could this be a sign of something?

u dont happen to have an anemone do you? Leathers are messy when they shed but it shouldnt be that messy.

No I don't have any anemones. Is that common for a leather to do it that frequently or is it still going thru the phaze. It looked terible for a few days and then yesterday when i came home from work it looked great again and also today except for a few hours ago it just shrunk up and looks blue (brown normally) Looks like death right now.

    Thanks glaspie

hey John, i don' think i would worry about your leather too much. Leathers are very hardy! Also i think anytime i move or bother my leather, it seems to shed? I would do a 5g water change just to make sure. That should clear it up fast. Maybe even skim a little wet just to help pull out that cloudiness?!
