Yep, did that to a purple tang, I believe, that was being a dick. Let him out after a week and he was much more behaved.

Had to trap our PBT and banish to the sump for 3 weeks when we introduced our purple tang last year. Model citizen when released from lockup...well, as model a citizen as a PBT is capable.

I didn't do that, but I did tape a mirror to the side of the tank for a tang to fight for a couple of days! Worked like a charm and he forgot all about the new fish.

Not sure if this was directed at me but I will answer anyway. Used a fishtrap and took about 15 minutes. We have had to trap several fish over the past couple of years and has always worked well. We used one of these:

Yep. Either nori, krill or club food depending upon the target species.

Even our former fat 11" sailfin would barely fit in the trap (he is still with the member we trapped him for). the more aggressive the fish the easier they are to trap as they want to be first to the food! BTW, cleaning magnets make a great way to attach the trap to the wall so you don't have to put it on the bottom or balance it on rocks.

It took me several attempts with 2 nets to corral him. By the AM both black clowns were trying to encroach on the elephant ear leather and the small orange clown was being pushed out so I released him. By the evening he had pushed the big black clown into a corner so I put the black clown into protective custody. Hopefully this will abate.

The Yellow Tang did a little dancing on the PB tang but he gave that up pretty quick and now they're buddies. Just hope the clowns make peace soon. Might have to snag me a nem
