Personally i think it would be cool to get people to donate an item and then raffle off the whole set, with enough people we could get a whole sw set up with fish and coral, offer it to him first, or let him know we would raffle it to raise money for him and his family.  As many people that are on the GIRS webiste MEMBER OR NON if everyone denated something ( a spare frag, a chromis, piece of liverock) in no time we would have enough for a whole set, need a spot that everything could be collected.  And yes i realize some items are cashy tank, lights, filter.  But i would have to think we might get those items donated by vendors.  Sorry guess i shouldnt use term we since im not a member.

    Good Idea.

Are you going to be the coordinator for it then?

I appreciate where you are going with this but it seems a little unconventional. You have said many times that you are a numbers guy, any idea what something like this would cost and the amount of time it would take to do this? How much of your time would you be willing to dedicate to such a project? Are you going to help service the tank?

There is a lot more to what you are proposing then having some pizzas delivered.

I can't get the referenced page to load so I'm not sure what the specifics are here, but I thought it was nice to shoot out the idea of helping someone out. That last line seems a little harsh.

I do appreciate what he is trying to do. Although I was a Navy corpsman just like this guy is so I may be a little biased. HOWEVER, I do have some issues with the way he wants to do it. Instead I say he we just take up a donation of items and or cash that the guy could use. Would be a whole lot easier.

And just to be fair to Casey's, they did deliver them to Washington D.C. at great cost to them. That should be applauded.
