For someone trying to make good money in the club being from Florida wouldn't you think 20 dollar membership wouldn't be much to ask? I think most guys in the club that have been here a while would agree.

 

Are you kidding? He has every right to post in here without getting a membership. Why call him out in front of everyone just because he isn't a paid member. I don't think that was right. YOU might not agree with it but he is not in the wrong in anyway.

This guy lives in Florida, and the ONLY time he ever posts anything on our site is when he is trying to sell something.

If I remember correctly he has been asked several times to stop posting for sale threads here unless he became a sponsor.

 

It is easy to throw insults from several states away.

What have you contributed to this site? Every post is about trying to sell something here.

This forum is about promoting our hobby, and education of fellow hobbyists so they can have a successful tank.

This is a non profit club, not owned by anyone. And if we were worried about the bottom line, we wouldnt donate hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to schools and similar to promote the hobby and education.

It is spammers like you who think they have the right to sell their crap on every forum across the nation is why we have to have rules. Otherwise we would become just a big craig's list site for every coral fragger in the world.

 

Our sponsorship for one year is $100, which gives you unlimited access to post in the sponsor forum. Pretty cheap advertising considering the site is visited by a couple hundred salt water hobbyists on a daily basis.

 

Doing a quick search, I found this same post on six different forums across the nation.

Nothing but a typical spammer who wants to sell, but never contribute. Always expects something for free.

 

13 started threads from your account and of those 13, 8 are for sale and 1 is for buying. So 9 out of 13 posts are BST. So 69% of your started threads were BST related and you complain about paying a measly $20. Im members on other sites as well. My Minnesota group has a $30 yearly fee to see/post in their classifieds section. Its $30 a year or you attend at least one meeting a year then its free. Its all in place to keep people like you from spamming the site and selling your items for profit. Im also in another forum in Wisconsin that is free for everyone to post in and they do not moderate it. Most of their site is BST and the site is pretty much dead. Im pretty sure this site will do just fine with out someone like yourself trying for free advertising. You even made comment that you sell on eBay so apparently you are a seller.

As for as your shot at Turbo for having a "god" complex, that is total BS. If you were even part of the site you would see how much he is there to help people. The only thread I saw get locked down was one bashing a LFS, but that thread was going down fast and damaging to the clubs appeal for people that were to see it. Which case the BOD took a pole to shut it down. If you want drama go to FB for that. This site is here to help fellow reefers, just not to give you free advertising is what it boils down to. I don't think we are going to miss a person spamming the site.

 

Also as a business owner your crack at the sponsorship fees being so "high" at $100 for a year. Are you kidding me? The only thing I can sponsor in that range for my business is maybe a stock car that just gets your name on the side of the car and thats it. This site has hundreds of people come through daily and you can even interact with them! Hell I pay 1k a year to be in the yellow pages and on the internet.

I guess the biggest part of this that bothers me is this club started with 6 friends, has grown to hundreds of members in almost 15 years. The hard work of so many people went into it, thousands of hours of time, given by our members to make this club and this page great. To have someone random, basically **** talk us is outrageous, a fea years ago our club held macna you flaming a**hole, now your pissy because you got called out for being a cheap a** trying to make a buck off our hobby? Go sell people your crap elsewhere
