Coral Eating Flame Angel - $25

    This fish has been pecking my open brains and some of my other corals for a while now and I finally caught it.  Do not put this fish in a reef tank.  FOWLR only. 
    I will be available tomorrow (Friday), early evening, but then not again until Sunday night.  I need this fish gone.  The first person that brings me cash at a time that I can get them the fish gets it.

    How did you catch yours? I know one of my fish have been picking at my corals, either the flame angel or the aiptasia eating filefish. I think it's the filefish, I cought him out pretty easily. If I need to catch the angel too, let me know some tips! I've tried a lot of different things so far with no luck. He won't even come close to my fish traps...

    I can't send you PMs for some reason.  I think the quotes in your name may be screwing with the PM system.  You may want to consider updating your profile to remove them.  Personally, I think this is a deal on this fish.  I saw a flame angel the same size at Pet's Playhouse for over $70.  I know I paid more than this for this guy and priced him at $25 so it would sell today.  Hope you understand, but I don't think I want to go any lower. But I gotta say, I don't blame you for asking...I probably would have too.  :)  I'm available for pickup today between 4:45 and 5:15.  Hope that works.

    Cheapest I see these going for on the web is $33 to $40 - and that's without the shipping.

    Thanks for the tip AJ. I know of a guy who's got the manual style trap too, I'll have to borrow it from him if the angel give me any more problems. He doesn't touch any of my sps, but I've noticed my acans don't open up much in my 125. I had them in a 40 for a while and they were opening pretty big.

    Also, I wouldn't say the angel is eating your corals, if you watched Jon Coppolino's speech(it's in the GIRS video archive), you'll see that there are only a couple angels/butterflies that are capable of eating coral polyps. The angels that look like they're eating corals are only sucking off the coral mucus on the tissue. I'm not going to get into it, but if you're ever interested in keeping angels in your reef, it's a great video worth watching.

    Yeah, was working the show and wasn't able to see it first hand...I'll have to watch the vid. I have seen it nipping at the polyps on my SPS, so if it's not eating the polpys, I don't know what it's doing...and why I don't have polyp extension on them.

    In Jon's speech he says the pygmy angles will almost never nip at your corals if the corals are in excellent health and the fish is fed enough. Angels need live sponge, algae, and other things in their diet. Sometimes if you don't feed them enough they resort to "polyp nipping." It's all in the video, about an hour long. Worth watching, as are all the other speaker videos provided to paid GIRS members for free!

    I guess I missed something. I heard that Big D didn't get it and either did Saltwaternewbee. Must have evaporated. O well. Just thought I would check. Thanks.
