I have a Powershot and I'll give your settings a try.
Good stuff from a free proggie, PhotoMe, that lists the exif data (for anyone wondering) so you can see the camera's settings/duplicate a shot.

Thanks for the info!
I never thought about hacking firmware in a camera.  If it can do as it says I'll be amazed - raw would be nice w/Photoshop.
BTW - I have a Powershot A620 so it's virtually identical to yours aside from the megapixels...and I've never gotten shots like the ones you posted!

It does allow me to shoot in raw - and after a conversion to DNG can open in CS4!
Hmm....now I need to learn about working with raw images.

Yes - but it doesn't like the default format created with the camera.  I had to download a free proggie to convert to the universal DNG format.
This camera was not released as being able to output in raw format and CDDK software is forcing it to.

There are a few nice ones in there, others not so much.  A lot of them were taken with my underwater housing as well.
Those were all with the Powershot? (GIRS stripped the exif)
Very nice!  Looks I need to get busy as I was going to replace my camera but apparently it has capabilities!
