Way way back, I attended the first girs meeting at Janna's store and I received one head of a hammer from someone there. It has done well for me and in my tank ended up being bicolor and it is one of my most favorite oldest corals in my tank. It has survived several moves and embarrassed to say neglect as my attention decreased when I got busy. So I was wondering, how old are your corals?

I remember (and miss) her Reef Connection store in Altoona! We can't touch that but have a candy cane that we purchased in 2009 from Jim (Potroast) as a 3 head frag that is now the size of a volleyball with I have no idea how many heads. It has survived being moved to 3 different tanks along the way.

I've only been reefing since last September, so I'll go with the single head of frogspawn I picked up from JTFraggin - it's now got ten heads by my last count.

I'm curious to know just how old that massive brain coral is at Seascapes, in their 'smaller' display tank.

I was in Seascapes about a month ago and Tim said that brain coral is over 20 years old!! That's a heck of an accomplishment if you ask me. It too has survived numerous tank crashes along the way

It is great to hear that people are keeping these creatures alive so long!

I had several that were 5-6 years old, and I bought them from other reefers.

I've got a 4 year old green Kenya tree an a colony of candy canes that have been through some rough conditions and 3 tank upgrades. The tree was dead or so I thought at one point and it came back stronger and better then ever. One of my main piece's now and home to my long nose hawk

I managed to hold onto a tiny frag of a green bali slimer I got from Bullet in 2003 I think.

I pulled the colony and gave it away when I had to break down my old tank. I put the rock it was on in my nano (lit with crappy LED) and recently moved it over to my 125. There must have been enough left alive to start up again because now its silver dollar size and starting to branch. Thats a hardy SPS!
