d i y chiller ?

    I would like to build one of those cheaper than buying I would like it to work properly be reliable anybody else ever do this

    Im not sure im looking for advice i have a few old dorm room refrigerators thought about trying somthing with them

    Not to rain on your idea, but google that and you'll see how well it doesn't work.


    Needless to say the correct equipment for the job usually works the best. If you want to chill your tank your better off getting a chiller. If you want to keep a few beers cold, well then it sounds like you have that equipment covered. Now if you had some type of geothermal heat exchanger you could tap in, then it would be a different story.

    I was thinking of taking multiple feet of those and Coyle ing it inside of the refrigerator

    I only no one person that has done that successfully. The basis of their system was, a set temperature on the fridge and then have coils that ran through it. They used a doser pump and it ran off their controller. When it called for cooler temperatures it kicked on. I know at points in the summer the doser pump ran almost all the time.

    I am sure there are some options, but a chiller works best!!!!!

    I highly doubt it will work for your size of tank. your best bet is to just buy a chiller. I can almost guarantee that in the long run a good chiller will be cheaper also
