Does anyone have or know anyone that has used a damo suction cup. I'm thinking about buying 6 8in. Ones to help me move at the end of the month. My 220 Marineland weighs 392 dry do of I got 6 cups that would be 65 lbs per cup does that sound right? I've never used any suction cups before have always used a litter muscle and my two brothers just looking for a little easier way. Any input would be great. Here's a link to what I'm looking at. DAMO Diamond Tools online store

I think a couple people around the club have some. I think you can find them at some rental stores as well. I think the very good ones you should be able to get away with 4 cups for the tank.
I have never used them, but I think in some cases they would have been very handy. I'm guessing doorways would still be an issue, and I know for my 250 deep dimension about the only thing they would have been helpful with is lifting it onto the stand. It wouldn't fit through the house with suction cups.

Lifting straps would work better for going through doors. And easyer on the tank. That's alot of presser on the sides of tank with that weight. I would use lifting straps. Most hardware stores have them.

I agree. The guys that moved our 300DD used straps and I was impressed with how well they worked.

I've seen alot of tanks shatter from use of cups. Anything smaller than a 60 would be ok for cups. Anything bigger I would use straps. And you have more control with straps. Because your hands will be on it as well.

Fwiw cups were amazing with the 180 we just moved. It was considerably heavier than an normal 180. There were cup marks on the glass out of the crate so apparently Miracles uses cups at the factory at least for custom 180 tanks.

I personally have 0 worries about cups on 1/2" or 3/4 glass. That stuff is crazy strong.
