This sounds like a great topic. With help from my brother, i have been starting on a DIY led light fixture and controller. I will see if i can make my work schedule change and make it to this meeting. *so it is a maybe for me right now*

PS - i also know that there is a guy in the DM area that has an aqua illumination led set up ( i ran into him at Adam's aquatics one day... but can not remember his name). But would love to hear from him.

Yea it should be a good meeting, sounds like Gereds going to bring my LED fixture in, and some optics and drivers I have laying around. Mcclandy if you wanna look at a fixture too look at some wiring idea, let me know I can send some pictures, and also talk to you about the set up. I'm just figuring out the setup, since I bought it from another member on Nano Reefs, but at this point LEDs are abosolutly amazing. The Aqua illumination set up's look top notch, but you pay the price for the quality. DIY Led fixtures are becoming easier and easier to build, which is good for the hobby.

So far just have been working on the controller (which i would be willing to share with club members once finished). And the next step is picking out LEDs/optics. I have a tank that is 30" deep and i am kinda nervous about the depth. I was almost thinking about asking if other people wanted to do a group buy for some LED's and associated hardwares.

Mcclandy I'm interested in the controller. Also for LED's I would go with CREE-XE that is what I have. I would also recommend Nanotuners, they were awesome to deal with. I also have a couple left over, plus a ton of optics, that I bought just in case. So before you buy optics if you wanna try some of the ones I've got laying around then your more than welcome too. Ive got about 5 of each of the 40,60,80 optics. I have some LEDs but Gered might be using them for a project, if not your welcome to use to to mock-up and try somethings.

Hey Andy if you are able to make it maybe you would be willing to show what you have been working and even talk about it a little. That would be great! The controller side of things is still a little foreign to me so it would be nice to have someone with some knowledge on that part of LED's. Even if you have to show up late it would be great if you could make it.

I will know the end of this week, maybe next monday, if my schedule will allow me to make it. This is a great subject and most DIY'ers should be able to do something like this with the simple resources that are out there.
