Please sign up here if you would like to be involved in the tank tour. For those new to the hobby or club this is a great way to see some amazing tanks and get some good ideas for your own setup. Starting time and location are still TBD. If you have any questions please feel free to post them here.

I'm in. If people want to come back to my house, hopefully I will have my tank switched over to the new one and most everthing done with the new one.

I say road trip to Joels and then we can stop in Slater if people wanted. I am in transition with my tanks but it doesn't look to bad yet /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

You are welcome to come to my place but I would rather wait until a summer or fall tour. Admittedly I didn't pay the attention I should of for a few months and lost some SPS. I let my Alk and Ca get way out of balance I think is what happened. I am also rebuilding my 240 Aggressive after getting rid of an Aptasia outbreak last fall. It will be mostly LPS and I have only recently started introducing the LPS colonies to that tank.
Having said that, again you are welcome to come. I will have to spend some time cleaning up the display though and the SPS presentation will not be that good. Lots of nice Acans and other LPS though.

I won't give you too hard of a time Joel /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif But in all seriousness it happens to everyone at some point in the hobby so honestly I do not see the big deal. It is up to you and also if people want to make the trip up to Boone. If we don't make it that way I would like to come check it out personally though.

No one else? Really? Remember you don't have to have a well established tank full of corals to be on the tour. This is a good time to check out newly setup tanks or tanks in the process of being setup. You can get a lot of feedback from other members this way. We can't make a tank tour out of one stop so come one Des Moines! Do I need to start bribing with frags?

You can include me as a back up tank if you do not have enough to visit, I have been in the last 3 tank tours so I am sure people want to see something else, but new comers may enjoy it.
    Thanks

I'm working almost all day, otherwise I would love to see some of the different setups. I'm planning on moving into a six foot tank in the next few months and am trying to get as much exposure as possible to various setup options. This sounds like a good chance to do so but again, I have to work :-(

Well I guess we can just have it at my house if people want to. I have made quite a bit of progress with the new tank. We can call it meeting at Joe's house since it won't really be a tank tour. I talked to Cagri yesterday and he's still cool with us stopping at his house and I think he is gonna come to my house as well so we will have two stops unless anybody else wants in... I say we meet at my house first so his tank doesn't totally put mine to shame /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

BTW, Gered, you can just give me all the free frags then since nobody else wants to show thier tank off /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

If you want, my tank can be on the tour.  Its mainly a softies tank though, so I wasn't sure how interested everyone would be.  I  have a few SPS and LPS, but have not been very successful with the SPS I added.  But then, maybe someone will have an idea on what to do to get the SPS going.......  I'm in West Des Moines.
So, if we could then find another tank on the west side of town, it could be the Westside tour - then this summer we could have the Road tour - to Joel's, Gered, and anyone else up toward Ames....  Then the Fall could be the East side tour ????
The one constraint at my place though is that because my tank is in the loft, only about 5-7 people can view it at once - space constraint as well as weight....

Quite the contrary my friend, if I move the large ottoman out (which I'll probably do), the floor space only increases to something around 6x9 - and I'm not sure how COZY all you guys want to get - or for that matter how cozy I want to get with you all!!!! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/crying.gif

Well seeing as the number of tank volunteers is a little low and the lack of an event in April Austin and I decided to push it back.  I will be posting a poll shortly for a date in April so we can get the best turnout.
We are still going to have a gathering on Saturday though.  Joe (flyingmoray) volunteered up his place again so we can go there and geek it up with some reef talk.  We are going to shoot for 4:30 start unless Joe wants to change the time.  If enough interest we can always grab a few pizzas or something too.
