Des Moines area tank tour

    Its time for a tank tour! Save the date - Saturday afternoon October 27th.

    So, we need 3-4 tanks. And then we'll also have a discussion on automation or reef chemistry at one of the homes. Let us know if you would like to have your tank on the tour. Or...... is there a tank you would like to see - let us know & maybe we can convince them!!

    I can host a stop at Grove& Platt Dental, as long as it's after 12:30 - kids' soccer game @ 11am, and parents are in town that weekend also. So I may not be able to tag along to the other stops.

    We could do my house as well. I have my basement finished with a bar and all. We could grill and do the discusion there. Right off of HWY 5 so easy for everyone to get to.

    Thanks for the responses everyone. Anyone else interested in showing their tank????? I think that we will wait until next week and then review all the responses and decide what makes a logical grouping of tanks. If we don't see everyone's tank that has volunteered then we know we have additional tanks for another tour!!!

    Yeah me and my wife will be there. Just let us know what tanks!!! If we do it at my house we could grill or something for the meeting part.

    Thanks everyone for offering to show your tanks. We have tanks on all four corners of the city...... North of Des Moines (Grimes), west of Des Moines ( exit 100), south east Des Moines (near the zoo), and east Des Moines (Pleasant Hill). So, we've decided that we will have the tour on the east/south side of Des Moines and save the tanks on the north & west side of the city for early next year. Hope that sounds good for you.

    Right now we've got 3 tanks on the east/south side. We've got room for one more tank in that area, if you would like to be added.

    Here's our plan:

    Matt (ninjax777) 1-2pm - including a discussion on automation

    Pete (Peteh) 2:15 - including a discussion on plumbing

    Brad (bearsareawesome) - 3:30

    We're also thinking about a barbecue at the end at Brad's house. More details on that to follow.

    Details for the barbecue:

    The club will provide hamburgers, buns, and pop. Please bring a side dish/dessert to share. Bring your own drinks if you want something other than pop/water. Hope to see you there.

    Should be some interesting tanks - plus a discussion on automation - Matt's got a great set-up and plumbing - Pete just finished plumbing for his new 120 gal tank. Hope to see you there!

    Please let us know if you're coming for the tour and/or barbecue!!!
