Des Moines Par meter checkout thread

I am done with the par meter but haven't received a response back from @violet21chewy. Is there a recommended amount of time to wait before moving to the next person?

 

Since I still haven't heard from @violet21chewy, I will go ahead and pass the meter to @beckerj3.

I'd like to get in line for the par meter please.

Hey guys - I'm wondering if there is a problem with the Des Moines PAR meter. The last time I used it, when you pressed the 'mode' button it would cycle you thru 'sun' and 'electric'. It does not do that now. Is that a change due to the upgrade? Or a problem? How is the PAR meter working in the other regions? I'm concerned, because all my readings are significantly lower. And I remember that if I took readings in the wrong mode, they were about 20% lower.

 

Oh - and I looked up the manual for the MQ-500 model and it still indicates that the 'mode' button should cycle you thru 'sun' and 'electric'.

 

@Ray/Jen_Reefin @blackx-runner - wanted your thoughts also

 

It's out on loan right now. I will check when I get it back in few days. I don't remember but I thought it should cycle through different modes.

 

I talked with Apogee today. They said that with the upgrade, the par meter now automatically senses the type of light (sun, electric, LED...) and gives the appropriate reading. Cycling thru the mode button is for setting the logging feature or clearing out sample values that have been taken.

Not sure why my readings are considerably low now, but I guess I'll wait and check again in a few months after I get new T5 bulbs.
