    Hey all!

I recently upgraded my return pump on my system and while trying to get new unions to fit onto already plumbed unions, I think we might have discovered an issue. The "old" unions I had on my system before say they are Schedule 80 and made of PCV; however they are the color that CPCV fittings are made of. They are not discolored from time being installed and Andy and I are really thinking they were marked wrong from the manufacture (KBI). /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/mad.gif I will post pictures of the unions later today to see what you folks think...

The CPCV problem wasn't something I had ever heard of until now, so I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience or knowledge of CPCV usage.

I've never seen schedule 80 that looks like cpvc, (off white).... Any way you can swap out the unions?

These are an off-white, yellowish cream color. (just like cpvc) I have replaced one so far but wanted to get some opinions on what to do about the other since they say PVC on them...

I don't understand...do you mean physical fit of CPVC and PVC or whether CPVC is suitable for reef use? I used CPVC for my return lines because of it is compact size. I have not had any issues. I skimmed through several reefing forums and the general consensus is that CPVC is OK to use, with one difference being that it is approved for pottable water use.
