Here are a couple shots of my homemade algae scrubber. It's fed by a Maxijet, and it's just 3/4 inch pvc with some holes drilled in it. Clamp light with a "soft white" bulb 2700K. I added a piece of egg crate that keeps the screen at an angle so that it doesn't hang vertically. I figured this would get a little more uniform lighting, and I've seen better growth of turf algae over the whole screen. The photo is the previous vertical setup. I got turf at the top but mostly hair and bubble algae with this version. Even then, it was growing in the scrubber and not in the tank. Thanks to Bud for suggesting that I try the 2700K light, makes a big difference.

The video is the second day after cleaning. Already has a fair amount of new growth.

Oops, wrong forum. If a Moderator wants to move this to the general forum that would be cool. Thanks!
