So, I have been incredibly unhappy with my Steve's diy led kit. My growth has been horrible over the last 2yrs and I have given it the benefit of the doubt but I have had enough. So I was looking at buying a club members vegas, which is what I should have done but oh well. So I did a bunch of research on the Chinese made led's. So I purchased 4 modules of the Sunspect 165w led's off eBay for $302. I figured for that price I aint really out much and if they don't do what I want them to then at that time i will purchase something name brand. So I purchased them Sunday morning and they arrived today. Post up a couple of pictures of the lights so you all can see what they look like. The quality is actually a lot better then I thought it was gonna be. So, I am planning on getting these hung sometime this weekend I hope. I have to work all weekend so not sure if I will get the time but when I do get them up I will post a few pictures of them over the tank. I will take a few pictures of the tank with my DIY leds and then compare those to the new leds and see how the look. I need to get the Par meter and get a few readings before changing to the new leds and after I change so I might wait till monday so I can get the meter from Dave. I plan on updating this every so often so we can see any coral growth and see it from start to finish.

Those look pretty cool. Interested in seeing how you do with them and what they look like over your tank. I have a coralife t5 that just doesn't have the color I want and it runs hot. Looking into changing out my lights... so yes, please update and let us know how you do.

I just put a pair of these over my 90 yesterday. Managed to pick up 2 of them for $100 (lightly) used. My only annoyance is the multiple cords.
There is a group on Facebook dedicated to these type of lights, people modding them etc. (Chinese black box led proof group) If I remember right. They have some group by lights on there, $133 each with a built in timer, single cord and supposedly improved spectrum by eliminating the "soft whites". So far I like them, Definetly bright enough! I just need a canopy to hide the slop that is the top of my 90...lol
