I have a 170g acrylic tank that I would like to build a DIY stand for.  The tank is 72" x 24" but has a concave front.  First of all - does the concave front add any considerations to how I build the stand?  (the original stand that came with it didn't seem to have any special fabrication).  Also does anyone have any good plans for a 72" x 24" stand that would work for an acrylic tank?  I'm looking for as "open" of a design as possible.  Something like the stand in this thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1625768
I'm pretty confident that I could duplicate the design in this thread but I'd just like to know that it would work for my tank and not suffer catastrophic failure down the road :)
    Thanks for the help!

Mine is very simular to that except I used a 2x6 for the horizontal framing and no center braces. Use styrofaom between the tank and the plywood.

How large is your tank ruggerkc? Do you happen to have any pictures of your stand after it was framed together?
