What size? I have a hole saw but its pretty big, I think its 60mm which would fit a 1 1/2" ABS bulkhead.

It's pretty easy to drill yourself with the glass holes kits.

Most tanks have the bottom pane tempered( there'll be a sticker or U learn the hard way). Anywho, there's standard ABS bulkheads and there's Sch.80 ABS bulkheads. A standard 1½" uses a 60mm hole size where as a Sch.80 uses a 65mm hole size. Drilling isn't that hard, just let the holesaw and drill do the work. Patience, patience, patience is the name of this game.

Ill have to buy a pair of polarized sunglasses. I dont see a sticker and really dont want to try it and crack the tank...

From what I have heard most 55g tanks are made of all tempered glass. Bottom and sides, IMO I wouldn't risk trying to drill it.

Hello! If has one that is drilled just swap him and take out the guessing game and hassle of drilling your tank with it possibly shattering all over your floor!

He lives in QC and its not drilled yet. If mine shatters hell drill it and deliver it. I think its nore of a reassurance that mine wont shatter

Is this 55 new? If so, then the manufacturers websites show information on the tanks and if they are made of tempered glass or not. I'm with Troy...I believe most 55s are tempered.

Also, I have a hole saw for 1" ABS bulkheads that I allow club members to use.

If its an aga tank it's a crapshoot whether it's tempered or not. Only way to tell is to do one of the tests.
