It can be tough to get frags to mount on frag plugs quickly using super glue gel.  I'm not a fan of using accelerator which makes it that much harder...  This can lead to excessive handling and time out of the water which can in turn jeopardize the frag.
This weekend I was looking at an old ORA frag plug that I pulled out of my tank and I noticed that it had a small hole drilled where the frag used to be.   This got my thinking...
Using a cordless drill and various sized masonry bits, I carefully drilled small holes into the frag plugs before mounting the frags on the plugs.   I used a drill bit that would make a hole slightly larger than the frag I was going to mount.   I then filled the holes with a bit of super glue gel and gently seated the frag in the hole.
Using this method, I found that even large, irregular frags could be quickly and easily mounted to plugs.   I would say that it required about 1/2 to 1/3 of the time out of water and handling that it would have otherwise taken...
DISCLAIMER:   USE SOMETHING TO HOLD THE PLUG (OTHER THAN YOUR HAND) WHEN DRILLING! (and no, I didn't learn this the hard way).

I use the Oceans Wonders plugs almost exclusively... It would be really cool if they could pre-cast the plugs with a 1/4" hole in the top, though I have no idea how practical that would be...

I have actually tried that on a few plugs and it worked great. I am surprised no one has really started casting them that way. Also another thing I do when mounting zoas or softies is rough up the surface of the plug if it is smooth at all to give the glue something a little more to grab on to.
