It really pains me to get rid of this because I waited almost a month for this to arrive. The refugium is absolutely brand new, I took it out of the box to check for cracks or imperfections then put it back in.(I found no cracks or imperfections)

The reason I'm getting rid of it is because the echotech vectra l1 I am buying will not fit in the return compartment. I honestly wish I could use this but I am just too hard headed about the L1.. My loss is your gain.

I bought it just about a week ago for $290, it can filter up to a 200 gallons. I am firm on $250 to sell it again this is brand spanking new, still in the box. It comes with a pair of intake tubes which is nice and there is a built in float valve for your top off water which is optional.

This was going to be for 120 gallon reef tank and one of the many reasons I purchased was due to the fact that it is 6 inches shorter than any refugium rated for that size tank due to its unique channel design, which is nice for a 4' tank because space is limited.

Let me know what you think and sorry for the long post... I'm going to miss this thing :( call or text 319-721-8578, my name is Drew

Why not just buy an M1 instead? That is smaller and may fit in the return section. An M1 would be more than enough for a 120 even if you were to run it to a manifold to supply water to other equipment.

I wish it was that simple but according to BRS's website both the L1 and the M1 are the same width (5") they just have different lengths and heights. My pump compartment is only 4" wide

Never heard of a return chamber that small. You could also drill a hole in the side and use the Vectra as an external, but probably more work than you want to do. Look into the trigger line. They have a wide range of sumps.

What are the dimensions of the return? Ill measure both my M1 and L1 when i get a chance.

Right around 4"x10" for the return compartment and I don't feel comfortable putting a whole in something that should work 100% without it and the emerald sump was my second choice.. Only thing that held me back was the price but I'm paying for it now lol

I would just put a hole and a threaded bulk head and place the pump externally . At some point if you wanted to put an internal pump all you would have to do is put a threaded plug. Drilling acrylic is easy .

I'm spending the extra money on all echotech products (pump, power head, lights) so I can hook them up to the reef link so there is no acception with that. If I can't find anyone who wants this refugium I will most likely drill it.. But I really don't want to

First pic is the M1 and second is L1. I measured it at the widest part with a digital caliper.

    M1-4.139"
    L1-4.774"

After looking up the sump another option would be to drill a hole from the skimmer section to the return section. Bulkhead it so it draws from the return section then the pump would sit inside, but in the skimmer section. Only thing that could potentially make it not work is if you have a massive skimmer.
